mac & murphy - a charleston paper co.

We are getting closer and closer day by day to opening our doors. The face lift is complete and construction on the cabinets and counters is almost finished. Once complete we just need to touch up a few places, move the Point of Sale hardware in and start checking in and setting up the inventory which has taken over my house. I have already started taking orders from home so if any of you just can't wait to get new stationary you can always call me to place an order. The printing practice is good for me so I don't mind at all. As soon as all our inventory is received we will have a website www.macandmurphy.com where you can view our product lines and designers.

As difficult as this past year has been getting this off the ground, I am learning so much and Marc and I have been enjoying the process. I just can't wait to get our doors open so I can start doing what I love every day. Thank you again to all of you who have supported us over the years and who showed such an interest in this endeavor. I love you.

Here are some "before" pictures of the property at 74 1/2 Cannon Street. I will post the "during" pictures later tonight and hope to post the "after" pictures early next week once everything is complete....keep your fingers crossed!

Also, here is a link to a small write up we received in the local paper's business section last week.
http://web.charleston.net/news/2009/jan/15/shop_will_make_nicer_put_pen_paper68461/ The columnists who write the piece didn't exactly get the gist of what we were all about but its free press so what can you do?!

Baby Murphy

Had our second ultrasound appointment last week and its a good thing we don't want to find out the sex because we couldn't see anything. All 12oz of lil' Baby Murphy was cross-legged and folded up like a pretzel during the entire appointment. The technician even had me stand up, walk around and stretch to get the baby moving but she/he wouldn't budge the stubborn little thing. The down side is that we didn't get very good pictures to share but the up side is that we get to have another ultrasound next month which otherwise wouldn't have been offered. The doctor says they could see enough to know that the baby is healthy and developing on schedule otherwise they would have brought me back in this week. They just need a few more shots so we'll get more pictures next month.

21 weeks (around 5 months) - check out that foot above the baby's head!

8 weeks - just a little peanut!

Well, Hello There!

With a fourth Murphy on the way, we figured a blog would be the best way to keep all our friends and family up to date on what we've been up to. Between opening Ami's store, Marc's work, keeping up with Johnny and planning for a baby, its all we can do to talk on the phone consistently with our loved ones. Its our hope to keep this blog updated with pictures and stories where you all can check in on us as often as you like. Don't be a stranger!

Love Is.....

trading in your dream car for a family friendly four door sedan. Marc started off the New Year by making a big sacrifice. Thanks Marc!

A California Christmas

This year we spent Christmas in California where we spent a lot of quality time with Ami's entire family and got our annual fill of Southern California. ;)
